This piece critiques the overwhelming dependence on medication in the American healthcare

system. It reflects how high medical costs and excessive prescriptions have become a

way of life—where pills are taken like candy, often doing as much harm as good. Through this

work, I question whether medicine is truly healing us or trapping us in a cycle of dependency.
